Description
DescriptionKarla is the perfect choice for dog owners who value both their pet’s well-being and the aesthetics of their living space.
The bouclé covers on both the inner cushion and the outer shell are removable and machine washable at 30°C, making it easy to keep the bed clean and fresh – even after muddy walks or during shedding season. A water-repellent, durable base protects against moisture and dirt, so you can place the bed wherever it fits best – worry-free.
But it's what's inside that truly sets Karla apart.
The bed features an orthopedic memory foam mattress that gently contours to your dog’s body, providing even support for joints, muscles, and spine. It relieves pressure points and helps prevent discomfort – ideal for older dogs, large breeds, or those with arthritis or joint issues. At the same time, it offers a stable, calming base for restful sleep.
A soft, padded bolster surrounds the bed, giving your dog a comfortable place to rest their head in any position. It’s a small detail – with a big impact on comfort.

The story behind it
Why I designed it
I designed Karla with a very simple goal: to give dogs the kind of comfort and care they give us every day. As someone who shares life with a dog, I know how much their well-being matters – and how the things we choose for them naturally become part of our homes. I wanted to create a bed that offers true orthopedic support while fitting beautifully into a calm, modern interior. Something soft, supportive, and quietly elegant. Karla is my way of honoring the everyday closeness we share with our dogs – thoughtfully designed for their rest, and for the spaces we share.
What it took to get it right
Karla was developed over many months – through sketching, prototyping, and collaboration with skilled workshops in Europe. We tested different foam densities to get the right balance of softness and support. We sourced fabrics that are both OEKO-TEX® certified and durable enough for real life with dogs. Every curve, stitch, and fastening was considered. Even the washable inner cover was reworked multiple times – because comfort and care should extend beyond the surface. Nothing about Karla was rushed or left to chance. It’s the result of doing things the right way, not the fast way.
Why customers love it
Customers often tell us that Karla becomes their dog’s favorite spot in the house – and their own, too. The orthopedic mattress makes a real difference for dogs with joint issues or those who just need deeper rest. But it’s not only about comfort. People love that it blends in quietly, without shouting “dog bed.” It feels intentional in the home – designed with the same care you’d give to any other piece of furniture. Clean lines, honest materials, and a sense of calm. Just as it should be.

My story
Hi, I’m Noa – designer and founder of Staey. I live in Denmark with my dog Alba, and I started Staey because I was tired of choosing between functionality and aesthetics.
Every Staey design starts with real moments from my life with my own Alba. I sketch the first ideas at my kitchen table, and my team and I test, tweak and adjust until it works – for your dog and for you. Because practical can (and should) look beautiful.
